I started my business in 2014, and really enjoy what I do. During my
I’m a country girl at heart and grew up in rural Leicestershire. Whilst growing up I was either bottle-feeding lambs, riding my pony or driving our antique little grey “Fergie” around gathering bales while haymaking.
When I am not working, I like nothing more than exploring the New Forest and Dorset with my family and cocker spaniel. Alternatively, you will find me curled up on the sofa with a good book and a coffee. I am happiest in walking boots and fleece but scrub up well for special occasions.
My strengths are good organisational skills, solution finding when required and level headedness.
My weakness is too much black coffee.
Skills & History
Throughout my career I have had varied roles in the finance profession and I have gained a wealth of understanding on how a business operates. Before going freelance five years ago, I was a Finance Manager for several years and at times reported at Board level, where I would be included in decision making for the company. My experience encapsulating business as a whole has enabled me to gain a lot of business strategy knowledge.
Having worked in finance for over 25 years you could say I know finance inside and out. I am a qualified AAT Accountant and a licensed member in practice with AAT. This means that I am regulated by AAT and keep up to date with all new standards and procedures and Continued Personal Development. I am compliant with AML and GDPR and have indemnity insurance.
I am an experienced Sage 50c trainer and as a certified Xero Advisor can provide training in Xero too. I also offer training on BrightPay and Sage Payroll. I also provide private tutor training for AAT, IAB and ICB qualifications.
I am a member of IAgSA (Institute of Agricultural Secretaries and Administrators) and am an experienced farm secretary.
I have a BTEC National Diploma in Hotel Management and have experience in the hotel trade. Currently one of my clients is a farm holiday accommodation letting company and I help them with bookings and am familiar with the booking system SuperControl.
